Hi everybody!
I am new to the forum and would like to introduce myself.
My name is Ana María Valenzuela. Even though I am from Chile, I live in Spain (in the very south) and will be attending the Trainers Training group in August.
I am very excited about this new adventure and have tons of hope and projects attached to completing this program. I am sure it will be an unforgettable experience!
A bit about myself… I come from a very big family that lives abroad and have 3 children. Hold a License in Psychology and have done many studies around the globe. In the USA I studied an Educational Specialist in School Psychology, in London I did all my NLP training (Practitioner, Master Practitioner and NLP Coaching Certification) and in Spain I am still in the middle of a Masters in Intervention Techniques and Psychological Treatment.
My goal is to set my own academy and promote health and well being all around. For this matter I have still to decide which one will be my scope: companies, adults, children… There is an inmense amount of posibilities and all of them are inviting to me. I guess I will know better after I finish the course.

I am very happy to be part of this group. 19 nationalities!!! WOW! It promises to be such a dynamic and versatile group! Where I live in Spain is kind of the same. The community is filled with people from everywhere - I guess the good weather bring us all to this spot!- and so my children and I enrich our lives from learning a bit of everybody. It is very special!
I am a bit nervous about leaving the children for 3 weeks in the middle in the summer, but I am sure this experience will pay off.
I cannot wait to meet you all and I am sure we will have a fantastic course. How lucky are we to have such amazing trainers??!!!
See you soon!
ani. (even though my name is Ana María, you can call me Ani…)

Hi, Ana.

You mentioned that you did not know which group to target, and I am sure all of them could use your help. Might I suggest another particular group?

That group is the elderly.

The elderly are likely to pass away from:
* dehydration
* malnutrition
* apnea
* depression/loneliness/anxiety

given the state of their care and the contexts in which that care is provided. At first glance, this would seem to be time to curse the state of the medical establishment and the quality of care and personal attention provided in elder care facilities. However, the personal choices of elderly people in deciding whether to eat and drink, maintain their health, or continue to experience life are there to find in people incorrectly classified as senile or “very tired”.  What good you might do through putting them into resource states that let them creatively deal with their prison-like circumstances, or to find physical energy sapped by ill feelings, or to find confidence or self-esteem needed to assert their needs and obtain them from their families.., all those outcomes would be wonderful for a part of our population that suffers tremendous neglect, ignorance, bias, and just plain cruelty.

This is akin to helping people in mental institutions, really. Anyway, just a thought.

I have posted many of those lately, it’s time I took some time off from this forum.

Good luck in your training, I wish you well.

 I am contented with topics that I can only write. The same principle goes in online writing. I would rather concentrate on online writing about topics where I am good at. I don’t need to explore or experiment as it will not get me to anywhere.
