Last night on television Derren Brown’s latest program called ‘Fear and Faith’ aired. The show was analysing and showing the effect placebo has on different control groups for varying contexts. Before I summarise the program if you’re in the UK you can view part 1 on 4OD highly recommend. Derren originally picked a group of four people who had fears/phobias and anxieties related to heights, public performing and social anxiety. The group were told that they were part of a study for a ‘wonder drug’ called ‘Rumyodin’ and that this drug had only been used in the armed services previously for soldiers to serve with absolutely no fear in the most dangerous of conditions. To layer in the authenticity of the drug, the participants were taken to a newly created for the show Pharmaceutical centre and met with senior Doctors who further reiterated the effects of the drug as well as outlining the conditions for the drugs usage. The group also met with someone who had taken the drug and was reaping the benefits and watched a video reiterating even further. One of the participants after taking Rumyodin for the first time phobia for heights vanished immediately. The other members of the group proceeded to take the prescription of blue pills (studies have shown this has a calming effect) and were told to keep a diary of all the positive changes that had occurred since taking the drug, further enforcing the positive changes.
Hello to all, we’ve had a busy start to the month here at the Academy, hence my recent blogging hiatus. This past weekend we attended and Michael delivered at the NLP Conference as well as our excellent PhotoReading seminar running simultaneously at the NLP Academy centre. This Wednesday we have module 2 of our standard NLP Practitioner starting, next week NLP Business Practitioner module 2 begins and then the Master practitioner. It’s great to have in the diary nice and full and meet so many people with varying outcomes at our different courses.
Busy day here at the Academy today. Michael is in full flow upstairs and we’ve been joined by busy professionals at our annual NLP Business practitioner. I’m currently working on our monthly feature and some special offers for you guys. Whatever your doing this weekend, have a great team.
When you are learning or developing skill you seek to achieve mastery, you do this through educating yourself through courses, books, one to one coaching, practice and other mediums. Once many people reach a certain level they stop, stop growing and developing their approaches they continue doing the same thing. This is particularly true in the field of NLP where year upon year trainers teach the same techniques, the same way and even tell the same jokes. When a person, company or product remains static and rests on the laurels ultimately the business, person or product will deteriorate and become outdated.
Hello to all. I’ve got some exciting news in regards to our 2013 ‘NLP in the Sun’ series. We have announced our next set of Trainers Training dates. The course will run from the 30 August – 17 September at the La torre golf resort, Murcia. We are very lucky to be joined once again by the NLP co-creator John Grinder, Carmen Bostic St Clair and Michael Carroll.
1. For the first 30 seconds, slowly move the bottom half of your
body into the same position as your client. Continue to adjust this portion of your physiology to maintain a match with your client should he move during the exercise.
Rapport is a state of unconscious responsiveness. Rapport is when the subject responds to you non-verbally by unconsciously matching your body movements and tonal qualities. When rapport is established a Practitioner has unconscious responsiveness from the subject and less interference from the conscious mind.
In NLP states human beings build their individual models through a process of neurological (f1) and then linguistic (f2) transforms. After being represented in FA (first access) the information is transformed through the f2 processing to form a linguistic internal representation that is far removed from the FA map. The linguistic internal representation is then transformed further to the verbal expression.
So where NLP began it’s life as a means of modelling excellence, training courses soon became a very active part of the NLP adventure, followed by NLP application where NLP trained people apply their NLP tools for commercial and personal benefit.
1. Identify the external triggers for an unresourceful state. These could be
