How to do four months of study in one afternoon

By Michael Carroll

Many years ago I had an important exam to pass. Back then I used to own a Financial Services company. The government rightly decided that the whole financial services sector needed more regulation, and part of that regulation was a series of professional exams.  I had passed the first set easily. The next exam was on Management and formed part of the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate, which was on par with the style of exam you would take as part of a degree.  The syllabus the exam was based on was very wide, including topics like health and safety, employment law, training and competency and management theory.

Make this Year your Best Yet!

By Michael Carroll

As the New Year emerges with the media hyped doom and gloom of the last year ever present, a question worth exploring is what can you do to make 2009 a fabulous year or even your ‘best year yet’. The so-called credit crunch certainly has had an effect on our economy, more importantly, it has impacted peoples’ attitude and confidence. This means it’s not only affecting people financially, but also emotionally. As I watched people out and about during their Christmas celebrations, it seemed they were trying hard to enjoy themselves, but natural laughter and spontaneity were missing. Maybe this an indication of how culturally we have become reliant on consumerism for happiness, or could it be an example of media hypnosis?

An article by Michael Carroll

By Michael Carroll

You may have heard of a process called ‘triple position’ which offers three distinct sensory descriptions of one event. The positions are self, other and observer.

The NLP Mindset

How to achieve an NLP Mindset

By Michael Carroll

I have just completed teaching a Practitioner course and Trainers Training with John Grinder, Carmen Bostic St Clair and John Thompson. We had people from seventeen countries from every continent visit Brighton, where we held our courses.  It was a fascinating and exhilarating experience to be part of two unique courses occurring simultaneously but in separate rooms. I was particularly interested in the different mindsets of the people who attended each course and how in certain cases ‘filters’ determined the learner’s experience.
